You can see that there is quite a difference between games for children and games for adults. Well, not all. Chess is played by adults just as much as it is by children and youngsters. There, the same rules apply to all. Field hockey and soccer, for example, do not. I don\’t know if it is just the shorter playing time or the longer breaks, because these sports are annoying to my soul. In fact, children do not engage in the game as much as adults do. Wouldn\’t you agree? They fight, they simulate. Then something is wrong somewhere. Games, especially children\’s games, should somehow uplift them, make them do something noble, even just think.
As kids, my parents and I used to play well-known and popular games, like Pexess and Mikado. Then when friends would come over, we would play table hockey, build with an assembly set called Mercury, or play “The Man Who Must Not Be Angry.” Over time, my parents and relatives taught me how to play inset rummy, and once they accepted me, I plucked them like chickens. I just played matches, but I plucked them and no one understood where I learned it.
Oh, one more thing, you know this game. The cards in general are interesting and deserve a few articles of their own. I\’ll write about it one day. In fact, I have since learned Taroki, Kuvika, Maria, and a few other cards. Nowadays, unfortunately, I don\’t have time for that and even a 3 year old would beat me. I haven\’t played for about 20 years now. I did play cards when I was a kid, but they were for kids like Black Peter or Quartet. Neither was much fun. Do you sit down with your kids and play any games? It doesn\’t have to be cards. It can be anything. You don\’t have anything like that at home? That is a big mistake and should be corrected immediately.
