When you ask a person what is most typical for a child, most of them will probably answer that game and games. It is true that children instinctively need it. And no wonder, after all, the game is not an important part of the preparation for the future. With their help, through nonviolent play, they learn the physical and mental skills they will need in later life. The famous “school of play” of Comenius is not far from reality. Well, but what about adults? Of course, these games are somewhat more complicated than children\’s games, but they also like to play. Of course, there is no doubt that they will entertain us, but is it important for children? After all, in adulthood we no longer pay attention to them, and even adults who like to play often become objects of ridicule.
But it turned out that he was not justified at all. Even adults can learn new skills in this way and develop abilities such as critical thinking, logical reasoning, or knowledge and reflexes. Yes, we learn later than children even with the help of play, but this does not mean that we do not learn at all.
Then there is the fact that it is basically an active rest, that is, a way to gain new strength and relax from the stresses and problems of everyday life. This is something we should not underestimate in these hectic times. We are experiencing enough stress in our daily lives and this is one of the healthy ways to deal with it. Last but not least, the social aspect can not be missed. Whether we play at home with family or friends, it helps to improve and strengthen our relationships. After all, for many people, the best and most beautiful memories are often formed, which is more important to us as a social species than we think, therefore, we do not need to underestimate the power of the game, whether it is a child or an adult. It has a place in history for a reason.
